FAQ'S
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I pay for BGC classes?
We now offer Online Registration!
Fees are due at the time of registration. We offer monthly payments but post dated bond cheques must be given at the time of the registration. AGF fees are mandatory and non-refundable. Coaches DO NOT accept payments of any kind. Click here to register!
What should my child wear for class?
The proper attire is expected to be worn to class such as a body suit, tight fitting top with form fitted pants or shorts, as baggy clothing is a safety concern. Hair must be tied back at all times. ABSOLUTELY NO jewelry of any kind, belts, watches, necklaces, dangling earrings, chains, rings or outside footwear is to be worn in the gym. All athletes will be barefoot in the Gym. The BGC is not responsible for lost or stolen property. All athletes must be equipped with a water bottle as The BGC does NOT supply cups.
Are your classes insured?
The BGC is a member of the AGF and provides a comprehensive liability insurance package. Click here for more information.
What are your term dates?
We hold three sessions throughout the school year. For our Recreational Artistic Gymnasts, the Fall Session begins in September and goes to December and is 14 weeks long. The Winter Session begins in January and goes until March which is 12 weeks long and the Spring Session begins in April and goes until June which is 10 weeks long.
What is your ratio of children to coaches?
It is our policy to have a coach for every 8-10 children.
Arrival Time
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your child's start time, do not drop your child off in the parking lot. There is a change room (washroom) for athletes and a waiting room for parents. If you prefer to leave while your child is in class, please return 10 minutes before class ends.
What is the purpose of fundraising and collecting bond cheques?
Because we are a non-profit organization, in order for The BGC to be able to run, grow, acquire all the gear needed and pay the bills for the facilitiy we need to fundraise. This helps keep our fees low and provides more gymnastics opportunities to more children in our community. For your convenience, we request a bond cheque, to ensure that each club member provides the necessary fundraising in order for The BGC to succeed. It is also beneficial for the busy parent who has the intentions of fundraising, but cannot donate the time, we just simply cash the bond cheque.
Are your teachers qualified?
Yes! We have a team of coaches who are trained by the NCCP to coach at a variety of levels, from beginner to Master Coach. We even have an AGF Judge as part of our coaching team. Click here to meet our team of coaches.
Can we still join your classes after the term has started?
We can try to make arrangements for your child if there is still room in the class and the session is only a week or two under way. However, after the two week period we will not be accepting new gymnasts. It is best to register at the time of registration to ensure you can get your child into the class before it is full. Can parents watch?
Unfortunately, The BGC operates as a closed gym. However, if your child is under the age of 5 and you register him/her in a Parent & Tot program, then one parent may attend with your child. We also have special times set aside each session where we offer the parents to come and watch for the last 15 minutes of the class time.
Be Prepared to Have Fun!
All Classes start with a warm up then rotate throughout the gym. Both the Rhythmic & Cangym programs will provide a ribbon and report card at the end of the session.
